201021451 六、發明說明: 【發明所屬之技術領域】 本發明是關於一種無線通訊系統。本發明尤其是關於一種經 IP多媒體子系統(IMS)報告簡訊(SM)功能之方法及系統。 【先前技術】 在無線傳輸/接收單元(WTRU)和核心網路之間開始無線通 訊對話時’該WTRU會根據第三代夥伴計畫(3GGP)標準,以附 加程序請求信號連結。目前’在網路能力資訊元件中(正),會經 由專用頻道和全球封包無線服務(GPRS)報告支援簡訊服務(SMS) 的網路能力。 然而,目前並無裝置可經由IMS報告WTRUSM能力,因此, 核心網路不會知道WTRU SM的能力’而SM可能也無法經由IMS 排定至該WTRU的路線。由於目前的無線通訊標準要求WTRU指 不較佳的運作模式(依據SMS的傳遞),因此WTRU應該透過GSM 網路或是以GPRS為基礎的網路傳遞SMS。然而,舉例來說,如 果該WTRU是在GPRS網路上運作,而較佳的設定卻是在GSM網 路的話,則SMS訊息可能會遺失。當該WTRU是在GSM模式上 運作’同時較佳的運作方式是GPRS傳遞的話,則亦會發生相同 的問題。因此,便需要提供WTRU—種裝置,以透過IMS報告該 SM能力給該核心網路。 【發明内容】 本發明是關於一種方法和系統,透過使用對話啟動協定(SIP, 201021451 session initiation protocol)的Ms報告SM能力。一曹叹口向一核心 轉註冊,並經由該IMS發送—訊息至該核心網路以指示其^ 、 能力,該核心網路接著根據該訊息更新該WTRU能力,並排定一 SM經該IMS傳送至該WTRIJ的路線。 【實施方式】 此後’當提職姻語「WTRU」,其包含但並未限制為, 使用者設備(UE)、行動站台、固定或行動用戶單元、啤叫器、或 參 是任何其他形式可於無線環境下操作的裝置。 本發明的特徵可整合至積體電路(IC)上,或是配置在包含許 多互連元件的的電路上。 第1圖所不為根據本發明所配置之無線通訊系統1〇〇方塊 圖,其支援經由使用-SIP之—腿116的簡訊服務。該系統1〇〇 包含一核心網路和一或多個無線存取網路,其可實施不 同的無線存取技術(RATs)。該RANs包含但不限制於,一行動通 ❹ 訊全球標準(GSM) RAN 102、一第三代(3G) RAN 104、以及一互 動式無線區網路(I-WLAN) 106。該核心網路包含一簡訊服務 (SMS)通訊閘行動切換中心(SMS_GMSC)/互動式行動切換中心 (IW-MSC) 120、一本地位置暫存器(HLR) 122、一簡訊逆通訊閘 (SM-IP-GW) 118、一GPRS支援節點(GSN) 114、一行動切換中心 (MSC) 112、一IMS 116、以及一訪客位置暫存器(VLR) 124。 該GSM RAN 102連接至該MSC 112以負責電路切換服務, 而該3G RAN 104連接至該GSN 114以負責封包切換服務。該 I-WLAN 106具有對該IMS 116之IP存取能力,(經由一封包資料 201021451 通訊閘(PDG)及/或一WLAN存取通訊閘(WAG)),以透過該核心 網路進行IP服務。 一服務中心126發送一簡訊(SM) 140至該 SMS-GMSC/IW-MSC 120。該SMS-GMSC/IW-MSC 120是介於該 服務中心126和該MSC 112、該GSN 114及/或該SM-IP-GW 118之 間的一個通訊閘。該SMS-GMSC/IW-MSC 120接受一WTRU終止 SM或是一WTRU產生SM,並傳遞該SM 140至該MSC 112、該 GSN 114、或是該SM-IP-GW 118。當該WTRU 130連接至該3G RAN 104、該SM 140可經由該GSN 114,排定由該 SMS-GMSC/IW-MSC 120至該3G RAN 104的路線。當該WTRU 130連接至該GSM RAN 102時,該SM 140可經由該MSC 112,排 定由該SMS-GMSC/IW-MSC 120至該GSM RAN 102的路線。當 該WTRU 130向該SM-IP-GW 118註冊時,該SM 140可經由該 SM-IP-GW 118 ’使用一SEP之該IMS 116排定路線,其將於稍後 做更詳盡的說明。 該SM 140可為一SMS訊息(例如:僅為文字訊息或是文字加 影像訊息)、一多媒體訊息服務(MMS)訊息、一即時訊息服務訊 息等等。 在透過像是該IMS 116之一 IP網路所產生或接收該sm 140之 前’該WTRU 130可向一適當的SM-IP-GW 118註冊。該 SM-IP-GW 118 在該 WTRU 130 和該 SMS-GMSC/IW-MSC 120 間 通訊,且提供互動式協定以供該WTRU 130和該
SMS-GMSC/IW-MSC 120間傳遞該SM 140使用。該SM-IP-GW 201021451 118維持WTRU 130的註冊狀態。在註冊之後,該SM-IP-GW 118 立即通知該HLR 122,告知該WTRU 130已經成功地向該 81^-1?-〇\¥118註冊。 在接收到來自該服務中心126之該SM 140後,該 SMS-GMSC/IW-MSC 120立即向該HLR 122詢問,以擷取該 WTRU 130之路線排定資訊。當該WTRU 130連接至該GSM RAN 102或是該3G RAN 104時,該HLR 122分別回傳該MSC 112或是 該GSN 114的位址。如果該WTRU 130向該SM-IP-GW 118註冊的 話’該HLR 122則回傳該SM-IP-GW 118的位址。 根據本發明,該SM 14透過使用一SIP的IMS 116,排定至該 WTRU 130的路線。該WTRU 130向該SM-IP-GW 118註冊,且該 註冊狀態紀錄於該HLR 122中。當該SMS-GMSC/IW-MSC 120向 該HLR 122詢問路線資訊時,該HLR 122回傳該SM-IP-GW 118 的位址(而非適當的MSC 112或是SGSN 114的位址)至該 SMS-GMSC/IW-MSC 120。該SMS-GMSC/IW-MSC 120接著使用 所獲得的SM-IP-GW 118位址,傳遞該SM 14至該SM-IP-GW 118。該SM-IP-GW 118接著轉送該SM 140至該IMS 116。
該IMS 116接著經由該GSN 114轉送該SM 140至該3G RAN 104或是該I-WLAN 106,端視目前WTRU 130的連接。當該WTRU 130連接至該3G RAN 104時,該SM 140便經由該IMS 116和使用 一SIP的GSN 114 ’ 排定由該SM-EP-GW 118至該3GRAN 104的路 線。當該WTRU 130連接至該I-WLAN 106時,該SM 140便經由 使用一SIP之該IMS 116’排定由該SM-IP-GW 118至該I-WLAN 201021451 106的路線。 根據本發明,該WTRU 13〇經由使用一SIP的IMS,向該核心 網路回報其SM能力(較佳地為一服務GPRS支援節點(SGSN)),以 紀錄於該HLR 122中。該報告較佳地係於一附加程序期間執行, 其將在稍後做更詳細的說明。該核心網路亦可通知該WTRU 130 ’告知其透過一IMS支援該SMS的網路能力。 第2圖所示為根據本發明之程序2〇〇流程圖,用以經由一!ms 報告WTRU SM能力。該WTRU 130可為多模式WTRU ’其包含義 支援多個RATs的多個無線單元,像是GSM空氣介面、I-WLAN 空氣介面、3G空氣介面等等。在步驟202之開啟電源後,該WTRU 130立即發送一無線資源控制(RRC)連接請求訊息,至一3GRAN 之一無線網路控制器(RNC) 113,以建立與該3GRAN 104之連結 (步驟204)。該RNC 113根據預設的因子執行許可控制,該因子可 為資源有效性等等(步驟206)。如果該RNC 113決定許可該WTRU 130 ’則該RNC 113發送一RRC連接設定訊息至該WTRU 130 (步 驟208)。該WTRU 130接著發送一RRC連結完成訊息至該RNC ❹ 113 (步驟210)。 該WTRU 130接著發送一附加請求訊息至該rnc: 113,以便 接收3G服務(步驟212)。根據本發明,關於經由一JMS之WTRU SM能力的資訊,係使用一網路能力ffi與該附加請求資訊一起發 送。該RNC 113選擇一SGSN114以服務該WTRU 130,並轉送該 附加請求資訊與該SM能力資訊至該所選擇之SGSN 114 (步驟 214)。認證及安全功能則於該…^⑽和該SGSn叫之間執行 8 201021451
