Abstract

Disclosed is a nonaqueous electrolyte solution for lithium secondary batteries wherein an electrolyte salt is dissolved in a nonaqueous solvent. This nonaqueous electrolyte solution is characterized in that a 1,2-cyclohexanediol derivative having a specific structure is contained in the nonaqueous electrolyte solution in an amount of 0.01-30% by weight relative to the nonaqueous electrolyte solution. Also disclosed is a lithium secondary battery using such a nonaqueous electrolyte solution, which is excellent in battery characteristics such as electric capacity, cycle characteristics and storage characteristics and capable of maintaining adequate battery performance for a long time.
