Abstract
This invention provides a drop optical fiber cable and FRP tensile body used in the same cable. The drop optical fiber cable is provided with coated optical fibers, a resin-coated tension member, and a supporting wire. The resin-coated tension member is formed in a circular cross section in which a tension member made of a fiber-reinforced thermosetting resin coated with a coating layer made of a thermoplastic resin, and a pair of coated tension members are coaxially arranged above and below the coated optical fibers and with a predetermined space interposing the coated optical fibers. The supporting wire is arranged above the coated tension member, and the coated optical fibers and, coated tension member and the supporting wire have a structure integrally coated with a main body coating part made of a thermoplastic resin. The coated tension member is made of an FRP high tensile body having a coated layer made of a thermoplastic resin. In this case, the outer periphery of the FRP tension member and the inner periphery of the coating layer are mutually anchor-adhered. The thermoplastic resin used for the coating layer is selected from among resins which are mutually soluble with the resin used for the main body coating part.
