Abstract
This invention relates to a surface modification method for an interlayer insulating film, which is formed by coating a coating solution onto a semiconductor wafer and firing the coated film at a specific temperature. The method of modifying the surface of the interlayer insulating film comprises a process of heating the inside of a reaction chamber, where the semiconductor wafer is housed, to a certain temperature, and a process of supplying a gas with oxidizing activity into the reaction chamber so that the surface modification operation of the interlayer insulating film can be achieved.
