Abstract

In the preparation of in-line dyed acrylic fibres by the wet-spinning process in which a solution of an acrylonitrile polymer in an organic solvent is extruded into a coagulum bath and the coagulated fibre is subjected to stretching and dyeing, a retraction step conducted under particular conditions is interposed between the stretching step and dyeing step, in order to improve the fibre dyeing characteristics.
