The pre-dyed hydrogel fibre yarn is then dyed, drawn and washed. The pre-dyeing step may include the step of removing the solvent from the swollen yarn and/or pre-drawing the swollen yarn. Running speed and pre-drawing of the fibre in the pre-dyeing step are pref. regulated so that a dye fed to the pre-dyeing step is almost adsorbed by the fibres.
