Asansör (1) tahrik mekanizmasi (5) olup sunlari içerir: asansör boslugunda (2) yukari asagi hareket edebilen aski halatlarina takili bir asansör kabini (3), aski halatlari için bir tahrik diski (10), tahrik diskine (10) paralel eksenli konumlanan bir tahrik motoru (7); bu motor bir tahrik kayisi (8) üzerinden tahrik diskiyle (10) es eksenli konumlanan bir kayis diskine (9) baglidir ve motor miline (16) etki eden bir fren tertibati (20) ile donatilmistir, özelligi bir yedek akim kaynaginin olmasi, ana akim kesildiginde bunun fren tertibatinin (20) akimla kesintisiz beslenmesini garantilemesi ve fren tertibatina uzak bir veya birkaç kumanda elemani üzerinden frenlerin elektromanyetik olarak açilmasini saglamasidir.
