Fiber optik kurdeleler, fiber optik ürünün içine yerlestirildigi bir matris materyali ve en az iki fiber optik ürün içermektedir. Matris materyali 100 C'de en az yaklasik 1000 psi'lik bir maksimum gerilim kuvveti ve 100 C'de en az %15'lik bir uzamada kopma degeri göstermektedir ve kurdeleler isi uygulandiginda kolayca ve temiz bir sekilde, tek bir birim halinde soyulabilirler ve böylelikle fiberin eklenmesi mümkün olmaktadir.
