Abstract

The invention of assistive devices for the development of children with cerebral palsy aims to restore physical abilities related to balance and movement. This includes training in standing balance, walking balance, sitting balance, stretching of arm, leg, and ankle muscles, and hand dexterity. With consistent training and development, children with cerebral palsy can use weakened limbs, reduce muscle spasms and rigidity, and improve their ability to be self-sufficient in daily life. This leads to better health, reduced burden on society, and a greater sense of social responsibility. Furthermore, it serves as a medium to stimulate and enhance learning processes and develop physical, mental, intellectual, and social skills. The assistive device for children with cerebral palsy is constructed using cutting and assembling wooden components according to pipe drawings. It consists of a balance chair frame with armrests, a seat cushion, and a table with impact-resistant edges. The footrest, secured with ball-head screws, is adjustable to suit the child's needs during use. The seat cushion, table, and footrest can be removed and repositioned. The device allows children to sit on a balance chair base to practice sitting balance and strengthen their leg and ankle muscles. The back of the balance chair frame features a standing frame with a backrest that can recline to 90, 100, 120, 150, and 180 degrees. This backrest can be adjusted forward for use as a balance chair and backward for use as a standing frame by locking the adjustment straps to the main post of the balance chair with ball-end nuts. The top of the standing frame has a pulley system with handgrips for practicing arm and hand muscle coordination, which can also be adjusted for use with the standing frame. Next to the standing frame is a walking balance beam. The base of the walking balance beam has artificial grass to provide a new tactile learning experience for children with cerebral palsy. It includes handrails for gripping during balance training and a harness-like device resembling shorts to prevent injury from falls during use.

Below is a footrest (7) with a heel rest (8). The footrest (7) is attached with ball head nuts, and the footrest (7) can be adjusted to suit the child during use. The seat cushion (4) can be removed, the table (5) can be pulled out, and the footrest (7) can be moved so that the child can sit on the base of the balance chair frame (9) to practice sitting and balance and to train leg and ankle muscles. The back of the balance chair frame (2) has a standing frame (10) consisting of a backrest (11) that can be reclined to 90, 100, 120, 150 and 180 degrees. It can be adjusted to recline forward for use with the balance chair frame (2) and recline backward for use with the standing frame (10) by locking the adjustment straps.
