Description
In the process of producing active manganese dioxide, there are wastes containing manganese sulphate and sulfuric acid, which are not used. These wastes can be used and applied in the form of a paste as a surrogate construction putty that does not contain drying oils. The resulting paste has good adhesion to glass, wood, metals, is suitable for sealing walls and does not crack when dried.
Substitute construction paste putty is obtained as follows.
Take an acidic solution, manganese sulphate (waste from the production of active manganese dioxide, containing manganese sulphate and sulfuric acid) and determine its acidity. Then the solution is poured into a vat, heated to 70 °, and chalk (powder) is loaded into the vat (when placed). The amount of chalk is calculated according to the acidity of the original solution (only to neutralize the acid, without excess). The precipitate obtained is separated from the liquid and loaded into the shed sacks, which are suspended for 10 hours to drain the residual mother liquor. Then the mass is squeezed out and overloaded in the form of a paste into a container. The resulting paste consists of a mixture of manganese sulphate, calcium sulphate and contains up to 40% moisture.
