The invention relates to metallurgy and can be used to produce ingots and roll them to blooming. The ingot is known, in which the bottom part is made in the form of hemispheres 1. However, this form does not provide a firm gripping of the ingot with blooming rolls in the first pass, and also leads to metal loss (especially tool steel) for cutting due to splits and delaminations that form at the end strips from the bottom of the ingot. The ingot is known, in which the bottom part is shaped as a truncated pyramid. Such a shape of the bottom part allows for a smooth gripping of the ingot by the rollers of the squeezing mills and reducing the metal consumption for cutting by creating favorable distributions, from the point of view of rolling, of distortions over the section of strip 2. However, when casting such ingots, cracks are formed in their bottom part, which often leads to marriage during rolling in the form of bundles and requires additional processing (stripping) of them before being rolled. The purpose of the invention is the elimination of cracks in the bottom part during the casting of ingots into molds and splits during rolling, a reduction in the amount of stripping, and an increase in the yield. This goal is achieved by the fact that in an ingot, the bottom part of which is a truncated pyramid, the faces forming it are wavy with a wavelength equal to the height of the face and a wave height of 0.03-0.2 of its length. Waviness of the grans forming a narrowing in the bottom part of the ingot. allows you to eliminate cracks by reducing the resistance to free shrinkage of the surface layers of the metal during the casting of the ingot into molds and to ensure a smooth capture of the ingot by the roll of the blooming mill. The wavelength less than the height of the face of the pyramid, forming a narrowing, does not provide the main grip rolls during rolling, which contributes to the formation of splits. When the wave height is less than 0.03 of its length, the face surface becomes close to flat, which increases the risk of crack formation (for example, when the height of the pyramid face is 100 mm and the wave height
