Изобретение относитс  к горной прог.1ышленности и может быть использовано при разработке мощных крутых и наклонных угольных пластов. Известен способ выемки мощных кру тых и наклонных угольных пластов,вкл чающий буровзрывную отбойку угл  вентил ционной канавы и опорных целиков с опусканием щитового перекрыти  и транспортированием угл  в угле спускные печи 1. Известен также способ выемки мощных крутых и наклонных угольных . пла тов при щитовой разработке, включающий механизированную выемку вентил ционной канавы и опорных целиков у кровли и почвы пласта с транспортированием угл  в углеспускные печи 2 Однако оба указанных способа недостаточно эффективны из-за низкой интенсивности выемки. Цель изобретени  - повышение эффективности выемки за счет ее интенс фикации. Это достигаетс  тем, что одновременно с выемкой венти.п ционной канав производ т отбойку угл  опорного целика у кровли пласта полосами по простиранию и после окончани  выемки канавы в ее сторону производ т отжим целика у почвы пласта. На фиг.1, 2 представлены схемы, . раскрывающие последовательность операций выемки. Способ заключаетс  в следующем. Одновременно с выемкой вентил ционной канавы 1 в щитовсм забое под щитом 2 производ т отбойку угл  опорного целика 3 у кровли пласта полосами по простиранию..После окончани  выемки вентил ционной канавы посредством отжимного устройства производ т отжим целика 4 у почвы пласта.
