Description
In the applied methods of hydraulic flushing of the settling tanks (by increasing the speeds due to a significant increase in water consumption, running a jet from under the dam shield, washing out sediments with a jetting machine), a large amount of water is spent. This is due to the fact that the saturation of the washing flow with the soil with these methods is not enough.
The proposed method aims to increase the saturation of the washing stream with the soil and reduce the water consumption for the flushing of the sump. A distinctive feature of the proposed method is that compressed air is blown through the sediment layer to stir up sediment during flushing, which is fed through pipes with holes laid along the bottom of the settling chamber.
FIG. 1 shows a schematic plan view of a settler with laid air pipes, and FIG. 2 is a cross section of the pipe.
At the bottom of the settling chamber 7, pipes 2 are laid, which have a number of holes 3 along their length. The ends 4 of these pipes are closed with a plug, the opposite ends are connected to the hose 5 coming from compressor 6. In order not to block the holes, they are located on the side below.
The work process is as follows. Before flushing the chamber / sump, the air pipes 2 are connected using rubber hoses 5 to the collapsor 6. The number of pipes connected at the same time is determined by calculation and depends on the compressor power, the number and dimensions of the holes 3 in the pipe and on the pipe length and diameter.
The compressor 6 injects air into the pipes, which, under pressure, flows through the openings 3, penetrates through a layer of sediments and carries the soil into the washing stream. The sediment weighed in this way is washed (related to the flow of water when the sump is being washed).
