The invention relates to heat exchangers and can be used in heat and power engineering, in particular in boiler units. An air preheater is known which contains internally heated tube sections divided into two rows in a checkerboard pattern. The air heats up the pipe sections in separate streams, for which the shaped partitions T are installed between them. The disadvantage of this air preheater is the cumbersome structure. Also known is a multi-pass dual-flow air preheater containing parallel-arranged ducts, in each of which pipe sections 2 are installed in series. Such an air preheater is closest to the invention in its technical essence and the achieved result. However, the design of such an air preheater also has large dimensions and increased metal content. The purpose of the invention is to reduce the size and facilitate repair. The goal is achieved by the fact that all gas ducts are divided into two parts by a common partition, and the extreme section of one stroke of the first part of the ducts is connected by a bypass duct with the extreme section of the next stroke of the other part of the ducts. The drawing shows schematically an air heater, an axonometric view (for the sake of clarity, both of its parts are divorced). Air heater contains the ducts 1 and placed in them the pipe section 2 of the first course and the pipe section 3 of the second course. All gas ducts 1 are divided by a common partition 4 into two parts A and B. Each of the pipe sections 2 is connected by a bypass channel 5 with a pipe section 3 of adjacent flow. In addition, the extreme section of one stroke of the first part of the ducts 1 (section 2 of parts A and B in the drawing) is connected by a bypass duct 6 with the extreme section of the next course of the ducts 1 (section 3 of part B and A on the drawing). Air ducts 7 are provided in the air preheater for supplying air and air ducts 8 for exhausting air.
