Description
From the tabular data, it follows that the addition of monoethanolamide helps to reduce the contact pressure and the maximum effect is achieved at 2.5%. Increasing the MEA content over 3.0 is not advisable, since the lubricant is very thick and it is difficult to feed the rolls using standard grease delivery equipment (SAG). Therefore, the optimal amount of monoethanolamide is in the range of 2.0-2.5%. This compound helps to reduce the contact pressure by 40-46% and higher when rolling carbon steels.
When rolling alloys with high deformation resistance, the effect of GWP lubricant increases. For example, when rolling ZOH5MVFSA steel in TMO mode, the contact pressure with GWP lubricant is reduced by 60-65% compared to rolling without lubrication, which allows 2.0-0.8 mm thick strips to be crimped for one pass instead of two.
Similar data confirming the high efficiency of GWP lubrication were obtained during hot rolling of low carbon steels (at 1100–900 ° C) and during warm rolling of titanium alloys (about 700 ° C). GWP lubricant is uniformly applied to the rolls and is not washed off with water.
