Description
For special purposes, it is known to manufacture high-grade fine-porous technical rubber, possessing valuable qualities, including high buoyancy, soundproofing and poor thermal conductivity. Of such rubbers, one can point to the rubber manufactured by some foreign factories, which is known in the literature under the brand name "Onazot". The mixture for this rubber is made in a rather complicated way - by adding to the painted rubber, in addition to the usual ingredients, also crushed charcoal and saturating the mixture with nitrogen under pressure followed by vulcanization, in the final stage of which the pressure in the boiler by draining steam and splashing water dramatically reduces for rapid release of nitrogen and the formation of fine pores in the mixture. However, in spite of the difficulty of obtaining onazot and, in particular, the vulcanization mode proposed for its manufacture, it does not always guarantee the formation of small and uniform pores. The object of the present invention is to make fine porous rubber with pores that do not communicate with each other using a simple and completely uniform vulcanization mode.
The peculiarity of the proposed method of manufacturing fine-porous technical rubber is the addition of
к каучуковой смеси, в числе прочих ингредиентов , мелко измельченного полученного из подсолнечной лузги угл , который прокаливаетс дл удалени летучих углеводородов и насыщаетс углекислотой с целью придани смеси, при дальнейшей ее обработке, желаемой мелкой пористости.to the rubber mixture, among other ingredients, finely ground coal obtained from sunflower husk, which is calcined to remove volatile hydrocarbons and saturated with carbon dioxide to give the mixture, upon further processing, the desired fine porosity.
Below is one of the possible methods of making fine-porous rubber using the proposed method.
The source material for pore formation is finely ground coal from sunflower husk (and not coal in general), the particle size of not more than 5–8 microns. This coal is preliminarily calcined at a temperature of 800 to 900 in order to remove volatile carbon from it, and after calcination it is saturated with carbon dioxide.
The coal thus prepared is introduced into a mixture of approximately the following composition:

The prepared mixture is subjected to the following processing:
а) крашению на вальцах в течение 15-20 минут при подогреве валков до 40°; б) каландированию; в) закладке в форму до половины вместимости последней .a) dyeing on rollers for 15–20 minutes with rolls heated to 40 °; b) calendering; c) tab in the form up to half the capacity of the latter.
The mixture filled into a mold is subjected to vulcanization in presses in the following mode:
3 .1) the duration of steam injection with a pressure of 3 KtjcM is 15 minutes; 2) the duration of vulcanization is 45 minutes at a constant pressure of 3.
According to the authors, the rubber produced according to the indicated method has a uniform fine porosity and, distinguished by high buoyancy, soundproofing and non-thermal conductivity, is not inferior in its mechanical qualities to foreign “on-pot”.
