Abstract
The invention relates to methods for treating wastewater using sorbents and can be used to debromise and dechlorinate wastewater from the production of pharmaceuticals. The purpose of the invention is to increase the efficiency of the process by reducing the sorption time and reducing the amount of sorbent. In order to carry out the process, waste water containing active bromine and chlorine is treated with a sorbent (Agrimus), which is a waste from the hydrolysis-furfural plant of the starch-and-syrup production, and after 2-3 minutes agitation, it is filtered. The method makes it possible to shorten the time of sorption by 1.5–2 times and reduce the amount of sorbent by 4–5 times.
