Description

сил на цилиндр, было сопр жено до сего времени с трудност ми в виду того, что цилиндровые крышки столь больших машин во врем  работы растрескиваютс  или ломаютс .The design of large internal combustion engines, developing, for example, from 500 to 750 horses. forces per cylinder has been matched up to now with difficulties since the cylinder covers of such large machines crack or break during operation.

The cause of breakage is different in different places of the cylinder cover temperature. This cause was tried to be eliminated by making the cylinder cover as simple as possible, with the least possible intersection of the walls and through holes, especially at the locations of the valves, etc., underneath. The results achieved in this direction have not completely eliminated the indicated difficulties in the design of large engines. Attempts were also made to influence the temperatures of individual wall locations by appropriately directing cooling water, but in this respect they were limited only to the fact that relatively small places were subjected to more efficient cooling using particularly directed water jets, through which due to the unfavorable shape of the cooling space inside the lid, the total flow of water is completely not prokhotl or only very little prohotsnl, or such places that have accumulations of material hampering guides allocating sufficient heat. In all cases, the technique used was to separate small water jets from the normal flow of water, but, the main mass, of cooling water was passed through the cylinder as a single stream.

The present invention is based on dividing the total flow of water into two parts radically different in nature: in one, located directly at the cylinders and having a relatively small cross section, the cooling water at a lower temperature is conducted at a significant speed, and the other passes through cross section with a relatively low speed and may have a significantly higher temperature. When using such a cooling method, the danger is eliminated exactly where
