Description
The known method of roasting mercury ores in metallurgical plants leads to the discharge into the cyclones and condensation system of valuable dust containing from 0.08 to 0.14% of mercury, characterized by unproductive roasting, in which the fine ore overheats excessively, which leads to distortion of the thermal regime .
The proposed method of roasting mercury-containing ore provides fuel savings, improved process and higher productivity of roasting units.
The essence of the proposed method lies in the fact that the ore fines are separated from the coarse fraction, which is burned in a known manner in rotary kilns, and the fines fraction is burned in the butt bin with the heat of the latter used for this. Before roasting, 25–30% of fine ore, no larger than 5–8 mm in size, is separated from the base ore, which is evenly fed into the cinder bin. The rest of the ore with a particle size of + 8-60 mm is burned in rotary kilns. Such a firing process provides an increase in the productivity of both a single furnace and the plant as a whole by 25–30% without additional heat costs.
Conducted an experimental test of the proposed method confirms its full feasibility and economic and technical advantages.
Subject invention
The method of burning mercury-containing ore, characterized in that, in order to save fuel, increase the productivity of kilns and improve the technological performance of the process, the fine fraction of the ore, not exceeding 5-8 mm in size, is separated from the coarse one and burned in the cinder bin with the heat , and lumpy ore is burned by a known method in rotary kilns.
