Description

A method for dewatering zinc sulphate solutions has been proposed.

Methods are known for dehydrating solutions of various salts by feeding them into a heated fluidized bed (boiling bed) consisting of solid particles through which hot gas is blown.

Known methods for dewatering zinc sulphate solutions have a number of disadvantages.

The proposed method of dehydrating zinc sulphate solutions is that the solution is sprayed using a nozzle and is applied to a layer of dehydrated zinc sulphate brought to a fluidized state, achieved by blowing through this layer at a proper rate of flue gases. The sprayed solution, falling into the layer, is quickly dehydrated due to the intensive process of heat transfer and evaporation with the formation of zinc sulphate granules, the size of which is regulated by the velocity of the gases in the layer.

The difference between the proposed method and the known one is that the fluidized bed consists not of an inert material, but of particles of zinc sulfate, the solution of which is to be dewatered. In addition, the method of feeding the solution through a nozzle located above the "fluidized bed" and carrying out the process of dewatering the solution is carried out in one stage without returning the product carried by the gases to the layer. In this case, a significant intensification of the process and a high thermal efficiency (80%) due to a decrease in energy costs are achieved, the product is obtained in a granular form of enhanced quality due to a lower content of water of crystallization.

The drawing shows a CS apparatus (general view) for the deactivation of csnc sulfate solutions.
