Description
Methods for the preparation of nitroso-phenol-sulfonic acid are known.
A distinctive feature of the described method for the preparation of 2-nitroso-phenol-4-sulfonic acid is that the single-metal alkaline or alkaline earth salt of phenol-4-sulfonic acid in aqueous solution is treated with sodium nitrite and the resulting 2-nitrosophenol-4-sulfonic acid is difficult soluble alkaline earth metal bimetal salt.
Example. 2.32 g of phenol-4-sulfonic acid sodium salt dihydrate, 7 g of sodium nitrite and 20 ml of distilled water are mixed. The mixture is heated to boiling point. At this temperature, the mixture is incubated for a minute. The reaction mass becomes the color of a strong iodine-on-alcohol tincture. In the case of reaction at lower temperatures, the duration of the interaction of the components is extended. The solution obtained as a result of the reaction is mixed with a cold solution of 2.5 g of barium chloride dihydrate in 25 ml of distilled water. A brownish-yellow crystalline precipitate of barium salt of 2-nitroso phenol-4-sulfonic acid precipitates from the resulting solution. After 24 hours, the precipitate is filtered off and washed on the filter with 5 ml of distilled water. After drying to constant weight in air, the precipitate weighs about 0.40 g. To purify the barium sulphate impurity, the resulting precipitate is boiled until dissolved with 100 ml of distilled water, then the hot orange-yellow solution is filtered off from the barium sulphate. When cooled, the pure barium salt of 2-nitroso-phenol-4-sulfonic acid is released from the filtrate in the form of fine crism or prismatic needles, the color of which may vary (from brown to black) depending on the size of the precipitated crystals.
Both the initially prepared reaction solution and the aqueous solution of the indicated pure salt in the presence of an IVo-Horo drop of the CuSO solution are stained. cherry red, and in the presence of a drop of I / o-Horo FeSO4 solution - in green.
No. 118511- 2 By using, instead of barium chloride, calcium chloride, strontium nitrate and the like, you can get instead of barium calcium, strontium and other salts of 2-nitroso-phenol-4-sulfonic acid. The general nature of the reaction does not change even if, instead of the original sodium salts of phenol-4-sulfonic acid and nitrous acid, we use the salts of other alkaline earth metals of the same acids soluble in water

The method of producing 2-nitroso-phenol-4-sulfonic acid, characterized in that it reacts with sodium nitrite in a one-metal alkaline or alkaline-earth salt of phenol-4-sulfonic acid in an aqueous solution and the resulting 2-nitrose-phenol-4-sulfonic acid is difficult to soluble alkaline earth metal bimetal salt.
