O) 00 The invention relates to agriculture and can be used to grow plants in greenhouses and other structures of a protected ground. Subgroups for growing vegetables and other crops are known. About those with low water capacity, for example, high-blown vermculite with a particle size of 5-15 mm ij. Known substrates have a low mechanical strength, quickly compacted, which impairs the conditions of the root system of plants, reduces the yield of crops. In addition, they are natural materials that require large labor costs for extraction and preparation for use, which increases the cost of crops. The aim of the invention is to increase the efficiency of "frying and reducing the cost of production. This goal is achieved by using well-known ash foam as a substrate for growing plants - the combustion product of brown coal grades AC, -TP; T, OS, P, ASH, HS at 1600-1800 C in the furnaces of thermal power plants, which is a waste that has not been previously used 2, the ash foam has the following characteristics: particle size O, 1 0.2 mm, specific gravity 0.63 g / cm; 632 volumetric weight; 0.35 g / cm; total density is 46%; porosity of aeration is 36.7%; moisture capacity is 27-30%; moisture content of a stable plant is 3.7% inertness to the action of acids and alkalis. Preparation of the substrate for work is performed by well known methods with saturation with mineral nutrients. For the test, the ash foam is saturated with salt and KNO, and after saturation it contains, mg / tOO g substrate: SiO 7433; AljO 1300; 432.0; CaO 18.4; MgO 4.9; BUT; 12.8; 14.6; 52.6; SG5.6. The ratio, 8: 1, is most beneficial for the growth and development of plants. As one of the basic soil for greenhouses, containing, as a base, turf soil 3, peat 1, sand G., plants of 9 different species were grown as a base substrate for comparison. Water was watered on the ash foam every day, and on the ground every other day. Every 12–13 plants were fed in accordance with the generally accepted method. 60 plants of each species were tested in five replicates. The test results are shown in the table.
