Нагревание выше 150-155° провод т так, чтобы реакци  шла быстро, что наблюдаетс  по скорости выделени  сероводорода. Нагревание продолжаетс  до прекращени  выделени  сероводорода. В конце реакции колба нагреваетс  на голом пламени горелки (примерно 30 мин.). При этом не допускаетс  перегонка жидкости. Затем начинают обычную вакуумную перегонку .
