Abstract

An energy transformer, which operates according to the Stirling cycle, Ericsson cycle or similar cycle, has two parallel synchronized crankshafts 9 and at least one cylinder, which contains a working piston 4 and a separate displacement piston 3. The pistons 3, 4 can be moved to and fro along the cylinder axis and each have respective piston rod elements 20, 25 which are connected to respective linkage systems which comprise connecting rods 17, 21 which are articulated on the crankshafts 9. The linkage system of the working piston 4 comprises a frame element 24 which has at least four axle journals 22, 23 arranged symmetrically in relation to the axis of the cylinder. The axle journals 22, 23 are connected to a respective connecting rod 21 which engages with separate crank elbows 14, 15 on the same crankshaft 9. <IMAGE>
