A device for detection of optical radiation with a focusing mechanism and a detector positioned essentially within its focal plane is described. The device is distinguished especially in that the detector (4) does not feature any surface with a standard (7, 8) so aimed relative to the focusing mechanism (1) that any beam coming in to the detector (4) can be reflected back through the focusing mechanism (1).<IMAGE>
