Abstract

A floating pontoon (10) is joined by a support by to the working platform which is above the water line. Riser pipes (33-36) are connected via a fixed connecting device (29) on the pontoon. These connections are contained in a vertical shaft (16). Its top (18) is open during operation and its lower end (21) is sealed by a sealing piece (41) on the riser pipes. The resulting chamber contains any gases which leak from the connections and is subsequently removed.
