Abstract

The DC pulses produced by the generator have varying size dependent upon frequency and/or magnetisation, and are fed to a changeover switch in permanent connection with an energy storage unit and a load. A control circuit monitors the voltage occurring over the storage unit, and dependent upon it controls the transmission from the switch of pulses to the unit. The generator is a constantly magnetised type driven at varying speeds, thus providing varying AC voltage, and is coupled to a rectifier. The outputs from the rectifier are connected partly to the changeover switch, and partly to one input of the control circuit. The second input of the control circuit is connected to the switch output, and its output is in controlling contact with the switch. The output of the switch is connected to a capacitor comprising the energy storage unit. The control circuit partly monitors the voltage level over the capacitor and partly the fed half-wave zero passage so that when the voltage level drops below a specific value, the control circuit reacts and closes the switch. Thus a number of DC pulses are transmitted to the capacitor for storage so that full drive voltage is achieved. The control circuit then breaks the switch.
