Abstract
The invention relates to an evaporator which operates by the falling film principle and is composed of a long tube. The evaporator according to the invention is equipped with a separator component (5) located in the top part of the arrangement, a separator component (4) located in the bottom part of the arrangement, a connection tube (3) between these two components, a liquid space (6) and heat exchange tubes (1). The separator component (5) and the liquid space (6) form one and the same space, for which reason the pressure is also the same in the two components. As a result of the connection tube, the pressure in the separator component (4) and that in the separator component (5) are also identical. The invention also relates to a process for evaporating liquids using the arrangement mentioned.
