Abstract
The magnetron comprises coaxial cathode and anode systems defining interaction space which is evacuated during operation. The coaxial cathode and anode systems (13,11,12) also define between them a rotatable located syntonising body (20,24) supported by ball bearings (21,22). This body, with its bearings, is located in an evacuated space (25) communicating with the interaction space (18). A magnet circuit with two pole shoes (16,17) located on opposite sides of the interaction space produces an axial magnetic field through that space (18), and is closed by the ball bearing (21) located nearest to the interaction space. In order to prevent the magnetic interaction forces between the ball bearings having an effect on the produced rotations during continuous operation, partic. if the bearings do not have holder rings, at least the balls in the bearing (21) located in the immediate vicinity of the interaction space (18) are made of non-magnetic hard metal or ceramic material.
