Abstract

The invention refers to a process in order to achieve liquid separation of sludge (1), etc. by means of a downward pointing narrowing sludge dewatering column (6) presenting a liquid separation device (11) in its interior, to separate liquid from liquid mixed with sludge, etc. that is introduced into the column (6). The invention allows the continuously effective liquid separation of varying types of sludge. On a number of levels separated from each other, one leads away water that has been separated from the sludge to a reject liquid chamber at a distance away from the column.
