Abstract
The invention concerns an optical transmitter with integrated electronic and/or photo-diode and modulator. The transmitter includes a semiconductor designed as an MOS-structure where the light's reflection in the semiconductor surface is designed to be modulated by an electric field intensity applied to the MOS-structure's gate. The MOS-structure has a transparent gate of, for example, tin oxide. The above mentioned light modulator is integrated together with a photodiode for supplying power to signal processing electronics integrated on the same semiconductor chip.<IMAGE>
