Abstract

A valve unit 6 and a return valve 13 respectively have a control piston 25 and a return piston 30 movable along a common axis to control the supply of clutch-disengaging pressure through a line 10 to a clutch servomotor, from either of two hydraulic pressure sources. In the flow position shown, pump pressure enters through a feed line 5 and leaves through a return line 7, and the clutch is kept engaged by spring force. On the application of pressure to a clutch pedal 15, a piston rod 21 raises the control piston 25, reduces the aperture at a control edge 27, and so applies pump pressure through the line 10 to disengage the clutch. In the absence of pump pressure, when the engine is not running, the piston rod 21 is raised further to an overtravel position in which a support piston 28 lifts the return piston 30 and connects a pressure reservoir 4 via a seal seat 31 and the line 10 to disengage the clutch. <IMAGE>
