Abstract
A magnetic inductor flywheel has a rotor (1) which consists of non-magnetic material and contains at least one domed ceramic permanent magnet (7) in a recess (11) in the rotor. The magnet rests with a cylindrical surface (8) against a complementary, coaxial, cylindrical surface (12) of the recess. A thin wall (14) consisting of non-magnetic rotor material separates the magnet from the cylindrical surface (6) of the rotor which bounds the air gap between the rotor and a stator which interacts with it. The rotor places an uninterrupted boundary surface opposite the air gap at the point of the magnet, this surface being obtained in that only the rotor material which is immediately adjacent to the magnet is machined. <IMAGE>
