Abstract

In a furnace core for a steam or hot water boiler including cooler pipes on the wall for the furnace core's radiant heat transfer and a burning bar (1, 3) for solid fuel including an afterburn zone (3) and thereafter a burnout zone (3a) in the fuel's direction of movement, a partition situated above the bar limits fuel flow from the afterburn zone to the burnout zone to a layer of a certain height and together with the furnace core walls constitutes a flue (9, 10) above the burnout zone for leading the flue gases that form in the burnout zone to the furnace core (13).<IMAGE>
