Abstract

A refrigerating cabinet (1) in particular for the storage and/or display of foodstuffs, comprises refrigeration means and air- humidification means formed by a water vapour generator (2). The water vapour generator may be connected to a substantially horizontal distributor tube (6) arranged within the cabinet (1) adjacent the lower part of the rear wall thereof, the distributor tube (6) having openings (7) through which water vapour is directed into the stream of air circulating within the cabinet. Alternatively, the water vapour can be fed from the generator (2) into an annular tube surrounding the driving motor of a fan arranged to circulate air within the cabinet, and thence through holes in the end of the tube towards the blades of the fan for mixing with circulating air. <IMAGE>
