Abstract

A switching mechanism, for a circuit breaker of flat construction with electromagnetic, thermal and manual actuation, comprises operating lever 1 which actuates the movable contact 4 via a link 2 and an intermediate member 3 which is pivoted at one end 5 to the contact 4 and at its other end (by the link 2) to a release lever 8 the outer end of which is retained by a pin 10 and trip lever 9. The latter may be rotated clockwise by a bimetal member or by an electromagnet to allow the release lever 8 to slide past the pin 10 and thus allow the contacts to open. <IMAGE>
