1449338 Discontinuous coatings ADVANCED MATERIALS ENG Ltd 28 Feb 1975 [8 March 1974] 10424/74 Heading B2E Markings are applied to silicon nitride by applying a mixture of a metal oxide or a precursor which produces such oxide on heating, a liquid carrier and a binder thereto and fixing in a furnace. The carrier may be water or an organic liquid and the binder may be a refractory, e.g. a silicate, oxide, nitride, alumina or glass. A temporary organic binder, such as an alginate or polyvinyl alcohol may be used.
