Abstract

The present invention relates to a sailboat rig which comprises an A-form lowerable mast (2) with fore- and after-stays (8, 9), wherein the mast (2) is longer than the boat (1) and is comprised of two straight mast halves (3, 4) which are joined together to form an acute angle at the mast top (7), wherein the mast halves are mutually joined by a plurality of cross-braces (12, 12') and are positioned sternwards of midships, and wherein a double roll-reefing jib is secured to the fore-stay (8). A double foresail can be secured to the fore-stay (8) and a further sail (16) can be secured to the after-stay (9), wherein the further sail (16) on the after-stay (9) can be sheeted together with the foresail (15) and can be made self-shifting by coupling the further sail to the foresail (15), which is also self-shifting.

Description

med ett segel som är anbringat på akterstaget, varvid detta segel skotas förut och kan göras självslående genom att kopplas till det ävenledes självslående förseglet. with a sail mounted on the stern stay, this sail being forwarded and can be made self-striking by being connected to the also self-striking seal.

Detailed description of a preferred embodiment of the invention The mast, which is located aft of the midship, consists of two parts, one attached to port railing, the other at starboard railing and joined at the top. This A-shaped mast is braced with bow and stern. The attachment points of the mast are designed so that the mast can be easily folded and raised, e.g. when crossing under a bridge. To reach maximum strength with low weight, the two mast halves must be straight and connected with horizontal crossbars. This step-like construction makes the mast top easily accessible. The lower crossbar, which can be extended on both sides outside the mast, was used for bulkheads. The easy accessibility of the mast top is an essential part of recovery. Normally, a sailboat lying still in port sails much longer to seas. It is then possible to place an easily removable wind-powered electric generator in the mast top for charging accumulator batteries in the keel. These batteries can be of sufficient size to accommodate the sailboat's standard auxiliary engine for petrol or diesel operation can be replaced with a quiet electric motor which has many practical and economic benefits.
