Abstract

1290054 Reclosable containers KALLE A G 22 May 1970 [24 May 1969] 24839/70 Heading B8C A reclosable container comprises an upper portion 1 attached to two base portions 2, 3 by flanges 4, 5 respectively, and having side openings 8, 9 allowing the container to be hinged open along a line 6-7 in the top of the upper portion. When the container is closed, the two base portions and the sides of the upper portion overlap in the region of the openings, an area (10) of the base portion 2 being received between an area (11) of the base portion 3 and a flange 14 on the upper portion. Base portion 2 is provided with slots 16 and base portion 3 with co-operating tongue 15 to hold the container closed. The upper portion may be a thermoplastic film of modified polystyrene, of polyolefin or of polyvinyl chloride and the base portions may be of cardboard having a heat-sealable layer on one surface or of a thermoplastic film having a heat-sealable surface. In modifications, the sides of the upper portion do not overlap in the closed position, the edges 8, 9 of the openings meeting; or the flange 14 is omitted.
