1327844 Shooting range equipment SAABSCANIA AB 2 July 1971 [3 July 1970] 31176/71 Heading F3X Shooting range equipment comprises a target storehouse 10 which is supported above the ground 1 by a structure 4 and is shielded in the firing direction by a butt wall 8. A target station into which target boards 13 are lowered during shooting is positioned beneath the storehouse. A frame 12 supporting the target boards is positioned in the target storehouse, is spaced from the butt wall and has parallel U-sectioned guide rails 21 that extend from the storehouse 10 to the target station and then continue obliquely downwardly towards a lower edge of the butt wall 8. Each target board is provided with rollers 24 which are received in the guides 21 to allow the target board to be lowered to the firing position. Oscillations of the target board are damped by a stop 23 at the end of the guide 21 and by a pair of pulleys 27 mounted on a shaft carried by arms 28. The raising of the target board into the storehouse allows it to be replaced. The structure 4 comprises posts 5 and beams 6 which are provided with a covering 7. A sand butt 3, Fig. 2 is provided. A target board 13 is suspended from each of the frames 12, Fig. 3, by chains 14 and pulleys 15. Each target board 13 is counterbalanced by a box 17 filled with sand. The pulleys 15 are mounted on a shaft 18 which is supported by the frame 12 and is rotated, via a coupling 19, by an electric motor 20. A cable drum 33 is also mounted on the shaft 18 and operates a trap door 32, the latter being closed, except when the target is passing through the opening, so as to prevent access to the storehouse during firing.
