Abstract

1312308 Platform elevators GOUGH & CO (HANLEY) Ltd 7 Oct 1971 [7 Oct 1970] 47676/70 Heading B8H Apparatus for unloading barrels B from a vehicle on to a conveyer 8 comprises a framework 2 in which a barrel-holding cradle 25 is movable vertically between the level of a platform 12 where it receives a barrel and the conveyer 8 where it deposits the barrel. The cradle 25 is movable by means of a ram 15 which engages a crosshead 19. The latter is movable in vertical rails 17, the crosshead 19 being connected by cables 31 to the cradle 25. This comprises three slats 27 on which a barrel rests. On lowering the cradle 25 the slats 27 enter recesses 13 in an inclined ramp 10 at the bottom of the framework 2 thus permitting the barrel to be transferred to the ramp 10 along which it rolls on to a similarly inclined apron 11 on to the conveyer 8. The vertical position of the platform 12 is adjustable by means of a ram 18 to which it is connected by a cable 20 running on pulleys 22.
