Abstract

1,259,665. Refrigerators. GENERAL ELEC. TRIC CO. 27 Aug., 1969 [3 Sept., 1968], No. 42740/69. Heading F4H. [Also in Division A4] A refrigerator comprises an upper freezer compartment 1 and a lower fresh food compartment 2 separated from the freezer by a horizontal partition 3, a freezer compartment door 4 and a fresh food compartment door 5, and ice dispensing means located in the freezer compartment with associated means for passing the ice through the partition 3 and door 5 into a recess 10 formed in the outer panel wall 6 of the said doors 5. The ice dispensor includes a receptacle 14 for receiving and storing ice pieces produced by an automatic ice maker 15 and rotatable dispensing means 16 positioned in the receptacle and driven by a motor 18. Batches of ice periodically discharged through an opening 19 in the receptacle pass through a passage 20 in the partition 3 and a passage 22 in the door 5 to the recess 10. Flaps 27 and 33 are positioned in the passages 20, 22 respectively for limiting or preventing the circulation of air through the said passages.
