Abstract

1435952 Ice dispensers GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 22 May 1973 [30 May 1972] 24283/73 Heading F4H In a refrigerator having a freezer compartment 1 and a vertical freezer door 2 for closing the compartment, an ice storage receptacle 3 is disposed on the inner surface of the door 2. The door 2 includes a closure member 8 pivotally mounted on the outer surface of the door 2, and a tubular passage 12 attached to the member 8 and extending through co-extensive apertures 5 in the door and 7 in the receptacle. The tubular passage 12 is arcuate in shape to pass easily through the apertures. When ice is required, the closure member 8 is opened, as shown in Fig. 2, ice falling through an aperture 17 in the base of the passage 12. Stop means 25, in the form of a polypropylene hinge member, prevent additional ice entering the section of member 12 containing the aperture 17.
