Abstract

1316208 Igniters PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN NV 19 April 1971 [26 Jan 1970] 20261/71 Heading F3A An igniter for use in projectiles comprises an electrically conductive ignition composition 8<SP>11</SP> bridging the insulation 4 between electrodes 1 and 3. The composition is rendered conductive by the incorporation of graphite. The insulation is provided by foil or an oxide layer on one or both electrodes. A non-conductive ignition material 10 is also provided. In another embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown), an annular flange 15 of one electrode 11 is crimped around the other electrode (12) and insulated therefrom by plastics foil (14).
