يتعلق الاختراع بطريقة لتحليل توزيع ثخانة جدار ‏wall thickness distribution‏ ماسورة. تشتمل ‏الطريقة على الخطوات التالية: تحديد توزيع انحراف ثخانة جدار ‏wall thickness‏ بشكل زاوي ‏للماسورة ‏pipe‏ (10) عن توزيع ثخانة جدار مطلوب وتقريب التوزيع المحدد لانحراف ثخانة الجدار ‏من خلال التراكب المضاف لمجموعة من التوزيعات المحددة لانحراف ثخانة الجدار الزاوي. ‏ولتحسين تحديد العيوب في حالة توزيعات ثخانة جدار معيبة، يقوم يتيح الاختراع طريقة بحيث يمثل ‏كل من التوزيعات المحددة لانحرافات ثخانة الجدار ‏wall thickness deviations‏ أنواع مختلفة من ‏العيوب الحقيقية التي تكون متاحة أثناء تصنيع الماسورة، وأن أحد التوزيعات المحددة على الأقل ‏يمثل نوع عيب يظهر فقط في نطاق زاوي ‏angular range‏ < 180‏‎°‎‏.‏ شكل 1‏
