Способ получения углеродных волокон общего назначения на основе сополимера акрилонитрила путем последовательного окисления и карбонизации под натяжением, отличающийся тем, что, с целью снижения себестоимости и расширения сырьевой базы для производства углеродных волокон, углеродное волокно получают из волокна на основе сополимера акрилонитрила текстильного назначения, содержащего акрилонитрил, метилакрилат и мет-аллилсульфонат натрия, путем окисления в воздушной среде при температуре 235 - 260oС в течение 35 - 60 мин с вытяжкой 20 - 30%, 230 - 260oС в течение 85 - 140 мин с вытяжкой от -5 до +5% и дальнейшей карбонизации под натяжением в среде азота при температуре от 350 до 1500oС в течение 10 мин.1.
