Изобретение относится к процессам тонкой комплексной очистки водорода и инертных газов от различных газообразных примесей. Сущность изобретения заключается в том, что для очистки водорода и инертных газов от газообразных примесей, включающей контактирование очищаемого газа с твердым поглотителем, содержащим интерметаллическое соединение, используют поглотитель, предварительно насыщенный водородом, дегидрированный нагревом, и/или вакуумированием, и/или продувкой инертным газом, при этом его контактируют с очищаемым газом при температуре 300 - 800°С. В качестве интерметаллического поглотителя используют соединения из группы: Zr(Cr1 - xFex)2, и/или Zr(Cr1 - xVx)2, и/или (Zr1 -Tix)Mn2, и/или их смесь, где 0,05 <х <0,95. Очистку осуществляют от газообразных примесей, выбранных из группы: кислород, вода, оксид и диоксид углерода, углеводороды, гологенсодержащие углеводороды, аммиак или их смеси.
