На внутреннюю плоскость (относительно колеи) пера подошвы рельса устанавливают три совмещенных ультразвуковых преобразователя, направляя оси излучения по схеме: один преобразователь на кромку внутреннего пера, два преобразователя, работающие "в тандеме", - на кромку внешнего пера. Точки ввода ультразвука трех ультразвуковых преобразователей располагают на внутреннем пере подошвы рельса на заданном расстоянии от оси симметрии рельса. В рельс излучают преобразователями лучи поперечных ультразвуковых волн, принимают отраженные дефектом ультразвуковые волны в той же точке, измеряют параметры принятых колебаний и по ним определяют качество рельса.The method relates to acoustic methods of non-destructive testing.
