The situation is complicated by the fact that the patients themselves are aware of their helplessness and silently experience their complete dependence on others. Such psychological discomfort does not lead to recovery, but destruction of the body, to aggravation of the disease.

In such a difficult situation, doctors are forced to seek the help of relatives or carers, which somewhat relieves the patient’s fate, but cases of positive resolution of the issue are rare, since working relatives of the patient cannot stay in the hospital around the clock, and relatives of retirement age are physically unable to cope with the requirements care for the patient in view of old age, and the services of carers are too expensive for relatives of the patient.

Taking these circumstances into account requires finding a solution to the problem from different perspectives. First of all, a person in a hospital needs the maximum professional assistance from all medical personnel, without shifting his responsibilities to relatives or carers. On the other hand, medical equipment must meet modern requirements, able to facilitate the work of medical workers, and also, to create more comfortable conditions for the speedy recovery of the patient. It must be borne in mind that for a bed patient, in addition to medical care, the demand for care is highlighted, one of the main links of which is sanitary and hygienic procedures. From this it follows that a bed or a hospital bed, where a person is constantly staying during an illness, should maximize the recovery of the patient: physical, mental, moral.

A comprehensive rehabilitation effect must first be directed to creating conditions for a motionless person to compensate for movement. Secondly, it is necessary to create conditions for the implementation of sanitary-hygienic procedures.

It is also necessary: To the maximum extent possible, to compensate for the patient’s lack of contact with people around him, with the environment; to increase the requirements for the patient’s nutrition quality, which should supply the body with the necessary complex of vitamins, minerals, and therapeutic substances that ensure the patient’s recovery; use all available means to alleviate the psycho-emotional state of the patient and for his speedy recovery.

“Movement is life,” says a wise proverb. The absence of the main sign of life, which is movement, is catastrophe, destruction, death for all living things, and it is doubly dangerous for a person, since his consciousness begins to work on self-destruction, as a result of which the whole complex system of the body gives an irreversible process that cannot be treated. In extreme conditions for the patient, everything that, at least partially, is able to make up for internal or external movement, must be put at the service of man. Such an installation imposes relevant requirements primarily on the bed where the patient is located during the entire course of treatment. Ways to provide the patient with movement due to the movement of the bed can be very diverse: a moving floor stand on which the bed is installed during the treatment of the patient, the mechanism of movement of the bed itself, curved runners that are worn in place of the removable wheels.
