SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to container (100) for consumer goods. Container comprises outer housing, in which outer housing comprises box (102) and cover (104), pivotally connected to box. Inner package (106) of consumer products has an access hole through which consumer products can be removed. Adhesive label (108) is provided to cover the access opening and extend beyond the periphery of the access opening of the inner package. Adhesive label (108) is at least partially releasably attached to inner package (106) with a resealable adhesive, provided on first area (112) of the inner surface of the adhesive label, extending around at least the lower periphery of the inner package access opening. Second region (200) of the inner surface of the adhesive label is permanently attached to the inner surface of the front wall of the outer container cover. Additional third area (202) of inner surface of adhesive label, located between first and second areas, is substantially free from adhesive.

EFFECT: container with an adhesive label with an adhesive-free area is disclosed.

Claims

1. A container for consumer products containing:

an outer casing containing:

box and

a lid pivotally connected to the box along a hinge line extending through the back wall of the container;

an inner packaging of consumer products in an outer casing containing an access opening through which the consumer products can be removed; and

an adhesive label covering the inner packaging access opening and extending beyond the periphery of the inner packaging access opening,

wherein the adhesive label is at least partially releasably attached to the inner packaging with a resealable adhesive provided on the first region of the inner surface of the adhesive label extending at least around the lower periphery of the access opening of the inner packaging, the second region of the inner surface of the adhesive label being substantially free from the adhesive, wherein the first region of the outer surface of the adhesive label is permanently attached to the inner surface of the front wall of the cover of the outer case; and

wherein the second region of the inner surface of the adhesive label and the first region of the outer surface of the adhesive label are at least partially superimposed on each other;

wherein the height of the second region of the inner surface of the adhesive label is at least about 1 mm and the height of the first region of the outer surface of the adhesive label is at least about 3 mm.

2. The container of claim 1, wherein the second region of the inner surface of the adhesive label is from 100 percent to about 50 percent of the region of the first region of the outer surface of the adhesive label.

3. A container according to any preceding claim, wherein the inner packaging access opening is defined by one or more lines of weakness in the inner packaging.

4. A container according to claim 3, wherein the adhesive label comprises an additional region of the inner surface of the adhesive label permanently attached to a portion of the inner package delimited by one or more lines of weakness.

5. A container according to any preceding claim, wherein the first region of the inner surface of the adhesive label extends around substantially the entire periphery of the access opening of the inner package.

6. A container according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the adhesive label is partially permanently attached to the inner package.

7. The container of claim 6, wherein the adhesive label is permanently affixed to the inner package with a connecting edge of the adhesive label adjacent the edge of the access opening, the connecting edge being located toward the back of the top of the inner package.

8. A container according to any preceding claim, further comprising an inner frame in an inner package.

9. A container according to claim 8, wherein the inner frame has a U-shaped inner frame comprising a front wall and a pair of opposing side walls.

10. A container according to any preceding claim, wherein the consumer article is a smoking article.

11. A container according to any preceding claim, wherein the height of the second inner surface region is at least about 2 mm.

12. A container according to any preceding claim, wherein the height of the first region of the outer surface of the adhesive label is at least about 4 mm.

13. A container according to any preceding claim, wherein the height of the second inner surface region is at least about 2 mm and the height of the first outer surface region of the adhesive label is at least about 4 mm.

14. A container according to any preceding claim, wherein the height of the second inner surface region is at least about 3 mm and the height of the first outer surface region of the adhesive label is at least about 4 mm.

15. A container according to any preceding claim, wherein the height of the second inner surface region is at least about 3 mm and the height of the first outer surface region of the adhesive label is at least about 6 mm.
